As I travelled through the jungles of India with the help of Tigerwalah, I couldn't help but think about the history of tiger hunting in this country. The majestic big cats were once hunted for sport and their skin and bones were considered valuable possessions.
However, over the years, there has been a conservation movement to protect these beautiful creatures from extinction. It was heartening to see the efforts of the government and various organizations to protect their natural habitats and to stop poaching.
Tigerwalah, our guide, shared stories of how the local communities have been trained and incentivized to become guardians of the forests and to work towards preserving the tiger population.
As I walked through the lush forests and caught glimpses of these magnificent creatures in their natural habitat, I was filled with gratitude and hope for the future of tiger conservation in India. It was a truly humbling experience to witness the beauty and power of these animals and to be a part of the effort to protect them.
