Description
A Vernier Caliper features larger main jaws for measuring an object's outward diameter and smaller jaws for measuring its inside diameter. There is also a depth gauge on some models. The sliding scale that opens and closes the jaws is known as the Vernier scale, whereas the main scale is fixed in place.
