Rectangular sheet metal is used to make a conventional vehicle steel tractor rim. The metal plate is bent to form a cylindrical sleeve, and then sleeve's two free edges are welded together. The rim is defined as "outside edge of a wheel that holds the tire." On vehicles such as cars, it is outer circular design of the wheel on which inside edge of the tyre is fastened. The rim provides optimum tire-to-rim fit as well as the retention of air inside the tubeless tyre.
