Indian Institute of Science Education & Research - [IISER-B] was established in 2008. Human Resources Minister Late Mr. Manmohan Singh laid the foundation stone of the institute. The institute is a public research institute of immense value. Among its many amenities are academic buildings, residence halls, sports arenas, and a lush campus that sits along a hillside. In the current scenario IISER Bhopal shares this distinction with six other IISERs in India. The majority of students who complete their studies at IISER Bhopal choose to pursue higher education or find a job.
Courses available in the departments at IISER B are as follows: Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, Ph.D. integrated program, and normal masters and PhD programs. It offers 31 courses in Science and Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Biological Science, Chemistry, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences. It has a Central Library and Computer Centre, Health Care Centre, Hostel & canteen, Sports, etc.
