Ganesh Chaturthi Festivals
Over the course of the festival, devotees create temporary stages called pandals and display clay statues of Lord Ganesha in public areas and their houses. A complex set of ceremonies goes with the installation. Offerings, aartis and chants of praise for Lord Ganesha are all made by devotees. To ask the deity's favour, special pujas are performed. The idols of Ganesha are submerged in rivers, lakes, or the ocean to mark the end of the festival celebration. Called Ganesh Visarjan, this is the ritual. During the festival, there are scheduled bhajans, dance performances, music concerts, and cultural events.
