However, for individuals who are not interested in academia, the difference between lecturer and professor might be somewhat perplexing. Everyone understands that both teach in colleges/universities, as teachers at the junior levels in schools are simply teachers. The obvious distinctions between the two jobs are those of experience, knowledge, and seniority.
