Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET), founded in 1993, is a maritime educational institute in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. It is a private university recognised by UGC and accredited by AICTE. According to the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC), AMET University was granted a 'B' grade in 2015. It is a technology-oriented institute for higher education that operates under the Section 3 of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956.
