The electronic differential lock system (EDS) is a component in the rear axle that allows both rear wheels to turn at the same pace. If your car becomes stuck, the electronic locking differential gives more traction. Within the operational speed range, you can electronically engage the differential and shift it on the fly. When the vehicle speed exceeds a certain value, the electronic differential disengages and when the vehicle speed falls below that value, it re-engages.
