The apnea-hypopnea index (AHI) is a measure for diagnosing whether you have sleep apnea. For those wondering what is AHI, it is a scale that helps figure out how serious your OSA is. It represents the number of times you experience apnea or hypopnea in one night divided by total sleep hours. So, an AHI of less than 5 means normal sleep, between 5 and 14 means mild OSA, between 15 and 29 means moderate sleep apnea, and more than 30 means severe sleep apnea. If you are diagnosed with this condition, you should begin the treatment asap.
