Description

Previous BAMS graduates had only one BAMS job option and that was to open their practice. Today they have several new choices available, apart from opening a private practice and they can work in clinical research, drug manufacturing, management, and of course become lecturers in Ayurveda colleges.

A scholar entering Ayurvedic practice cannot evade the thorough study of Ayurvedic Samhitas. The student should also be well conscious of contemporary medical science and the explanation of modern investigative tests. Hands-on experience is similarly required for becoming a fruitful practitioner. It is sensible that a student works with senior doctors for at least 1–2 years before setting up his practice. People wanting to be teachers should earn an MD degree in Ayurveda or a postgraduate diploma.

There are plenty of jobs today in both the government and private sectors for BAMS graduates. As far as job security goes, they enjoy the same privileges as MBBS doctors in Government service.
