Tulsi: Sacred Plant of the Gods also known as Holy Basil
A sacred plant in Hindu faith is tulsi, tulasi or vrinda (Holy Basil). Hindus consider it an earthly incarnation of the deity Tulesi; it is considered the Lakshmi avatar, and hence the god Vishnu's companion. She is called Vrinda and separated from Lakshmi in some legends.
Tulsi has been shown to be extremely effective in defending our body against different heart, liver, skin, kidney, etc. pathogens and diseases. Thus, the "Queen of Herbs" is rightly called the Tulsi.
Tulsi leaves are high in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron and potassium, and rich in vitamin A, C and K. It has plenty of protein and fibre as well.
