Although cancer in children is rare, it is the leading cause of death by disease after infancy among children in the World. According to a recent publication, it is estimated that 4,16,500 children and adolescents between the ages of 0 to 19 were diagnosed with cancer and 142,300 died of this disease in the year 2017 (GBD 2017, Childhood Cancer Collaboration).
