Krishna is undoubtedly one of the most popular deities in Hinduism. He is often referred to as Narayana, meaning “the Lord of the Universe” or “the Supreme Being”. Krishna is an avatar of Vishnu and he is known for his countless incarnations in all forms. He is depicted in various avatars such as a cowherd boy, a prince and finally a king.

The way he is portrayed differs from region to region, but most often he is shown as an attractive dark skinned prince wearing yellow clothes with peacock feathers in his crown and playing his flute near his lips known as Tribhangi Mudra.
