Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary
The Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary's forest, formerly known as Balrampur Estate, belonged to the Maharaja of Balrampur prior to the Zamindari Abolition Act of 1952. As one of the oldest woods in Uttar Pradesh, the forest was designated as a wildlife sanctuary in 1988. Known for its varied flora and fauna, the Terai region of the Himalayan foothills is home to the Suhelwa Wildlife Sanctuary.
