Square Nuts from DIC Fasteners are designed for use with a square head bolt and a flat washer. These nuts provide an excellent surface contact with fastened parts compared to standard hex nuts. The square nut works well in tight spaces when using a wrench or pliers and is less likely to become rounded off after repeated loosening.
