Skoda Kodiaq to Be Locally Assembled in India

The highly anticipated second-generation Skoda Kodiaq model is set to make its official debut in mid-2025. Skoda Auto has confirmed that the upcoming Kodiaq will be locally assembled in India at its Aurangabad facility starting March 2025, significantly reducing production costs and improving delivery timelines for Indian customers.


The Skoda Kodiaq Launch is expected to take place in May 2025, following its global reveal in late 2024. This marks a strategic move by the brand to strengthen its presence in the premium SUV market in India, where competition continues to intensify with rivals like the Toyota Fortuner, Jeep Meridian, and Volkswagen Tiguan.

Visually, the 2025 Kodiaq boasts Skoda’s new “Modern Solid” design language, featuring a larger front grille, sleeker LED headlamps, and a redesigned rear end. It’s also slightly longer than its predecessor, offering increased interior space and third-row comfort. Inside, the Kodiaq is packed with tech upgrades, including a 13-inch touchscreen, a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, ambient lighting, and new Smart Dials for easier access to controls.

Under the hood, the Skoda Kodiaq India model will continue with a 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine delivering 190hp and 320Nm of torque, paired with a 7-speed DSG automatic transmission and all-wheel-drive.

As for Skoda Kodiaq Prices, the outgoing model is currently priced at ₹39.99 lakh (ex-showroom). However, the new generation—given its substantial feature upgrades and design overhaul—is expected to be priced between ₹45 lakh and ₹50 lakh (ex-showroom). The availability of multiple trims this time could help attract a wider range of buyers.

By assembling the SUV locally, Skoda aims to keep the Skoda Kodiaq Prices competitive while offering a world-class product tailored for the Indian market. With strong demand expected upon release, the Skoda Kodiaq Launch could be a game-changer for Skoda in the SUV segment.
