The sand detector keeps an eye on solid (sand) and liquid (water) particles in oil pipelines as well as gas movement. Echo uses ultrasonic technology to identify acoustic noise produced when sand and other particles hit pipeline walls and alert the operator if the concentration exceeds a safe threshold.
To enhance production while managing sand at reasonable costs, ESP Safety created the "Echo" Sand Control and Management System for oil and gas wells. Customers saw a 300 percent increase in oil and gas well efficiency in the locations where Echo was placed.
There are numerous solutions to the issue in the field, but the bulk of them are expensive and have some drawbacks. It is predicted that more than half of all current wells will require [sand detector][1] or sand management during the course of their existence.
