Many young pupils have the desire of joining the Indian Army. Any person in society gains enormous honor and respect simply by serving in the Indian Army. Please be aware that you cannot apply directly for a certain rank in the Indian Army. While some ranks can only be attained after being promoted, some ranks require training and selection processes before the candidate may enter them. In the Indian Army, Sepoy (sometimes spelled Sipahi) is the lowest rank, and General is the highest.
