Description
The Oldham coupling is a type of flexible coupling that was designed for situations that need little backlash. More and more, they're being employed in place of traditional straight jaw couplings. Coupling is made of three discs in the Oldham model. The drive is connected to two of the discs, which are normally constructed of aluminium or stainless steel, with a third disc wedged between them utilising a tongue and groove arrangement to keep them in place. On one side, the tongue and groove are perpendicular.
