A sleep-disordered breathing problem, obstructive sleep apnea, is a condition when the breathing repeatedly pauses and starts during the night. People with this sleep problem snore at night and report symptoms like gasping for air, excessive daytime sleepiness, morning headache, waking up with a dry mouth, and difficulty staying asleep.
