We are looking for a patient and compassionate nursing assistant to help patients in our healthcare facility. The nursing assistant is responsible for bathing, feeding, and dressing patients.
To be successful as a nursing assistant you must be passionate about providing the highest quality of care to all patients. Ultimately, a good nursing assistant is able to maintain patients' dignity and privacy at all times.
Responsibilities:
Supports nursing team in providing direct patient care
Assists with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, and dressing
Helps with mobility, transfers, and positioning of patients
Monitors and records patient vital signs
Reports any significant changes or abnormalities to the healthcare team
Assists in administering medications under the supervision of a registered nurse
Ensures accurate medication administration and documentation
Creates and maintains a safe and clean environment for patients
Follows infection control protocols
Maintains cleanliness of patient rooms and common areas
Ensures proper disposal of medical waste
Assists patients and their families in coping with illness or injury
Offers emotional support and actively listens to patients' concerns
Provides comfort during difficult times
Responsible for accurate and timely documentation of patient information
Documents vital signs, medication administration, patient's response to treatment, and changes in their condition
Works collaboratively with registered nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals
Actively participates in patient care planning
Contributes to interdisciplinary meetings and discussions
Required Skills:
Excellent communication skills: The assistant nurse must have strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
Compassion and empathy: A caring and compassionate attitude is necessary to provide emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during challenging times.
Attention to detail: The assistant nurse must pay close attention to detail to accurately record patient information and follow medical protocols and procedures.
Ability to work in a team: Collaboration and teamwork are essential in healthcare settings. The assistant nurse must be able to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
Strong organizational skills: Managing multiple tasks and prioritizing responsibilities is essential for the assistant nurse. They must be highly organized to ensure that patient care activities are performed efficiently.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) program or relevant healthcare training.
Current certification as a nursing assistant (CNA) or equivalent in the respective state.
Knowledge of medical terminology and basic patient care techniques.
Familiarity with infection control protocols and safety guidelines.
Strong understanding of confidentiality and privacy regulations in healthcare settings.
Experience in a similar role is preferred but not always required.
