Norton AntiVirus is an anti-malware or antivirus software application created and marketed as part of the Norton family of cybersecurity products by NortonLifeLock since 1991. It detects viruses using signatures and heuristics. It is one of the most trustworthy antivirus programs on the market. It also comes with e-mail spam filtering and phishing protection. Its current solutions include 360 Standard, 360 Deluxe, AntiVirus Plus, and 360 with LifeLock.
Symantec makes the product available as a download, a boxed copy, and OEM software. As of the first half of 2007, Norton AntiVirus and a similar product, Norton Internet Security, owned a 61 percent retail market share for security suites in the United States.
