Situated on the campus of Banaras Hindu University, the Shiva temple is popularly known as New Vishwanath Temple. The New Vishwanath Temple was established by Pandit Madan Mohan Malviya ji. The ground floor of the temple houses a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva while the first floor houses the shrines of Lakshmi Narayan and Durga Maa. The unique feature of this temple is the tall shikhara made of white marble. There is a Shivling in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Shlokas and thoughts from the Gita and other important scriptures have been engraved in the inner walls of the temple. New Vishwanath Temple Timings are Monday to Sunday, 5 AM to 8 AM.
