NEW DELHI. Japan’s new Ambassador to India Hiroshi Suzuki (61) – a trusted diplomat of former Japan Prime Minister late Shinzo Abe, has reiterated that following the exceptional friendship Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Abe enjoyed, he, too, would like to foster heart-to-heart friendship with the people of India.
“I would be grateful if you could extend to me your kind support and cooperation,” Ambassador Suzuki said in a message after presenting his credentials to Indian President Droupadi Murmu on November 28. He assumed his post of Ambassador of Japan to India on November 9.
“Prime Minister Modi and Prime Minister Abe held 15 bilateral summits from 2012 to 2020. I have attended all these meetings as Private Secretary to the Prime Minister and witnessed how much the two leaders respected each other and how they have endeavored hand in hand to dramatically enhance Japan-India partnership.”
