In Indian history, the importance of Nalanda is paramount in the world of education. The Nalanda University located here used to be the center of education in the world in its time. Where thousands of students used to come from all over the world to study Ayurveda, mathematics and spirituality. But this famous university was destroyed by Bakhtiar Khilji, the commander of Qutubuddin Aibak in the 12th century, due to which only its ruins are left.
