                            Manas Wildlife Sanctuary, also called Kamrup Sanctuary, is a wildlife sanctuary, situated at the foot of the Himalayas on the eastern bank of the Manas River in the Indian state of Assam. It was established in 1928, having an area of some 520 square kilometres. The Sanctuary was declared a World Heritage Site in December 1985 by UNESCO.
