A lensometer (also known as a lensmeter, lens neutralizer, or vertometer) is an ophthalmic instrument used to measure the prism of a lens, sometimes used to measure dioptric vertex power, optical center, and cylindrical axis.
The lensometer is useful for establishing and verifying a reference refractive prescription before an eye exam.
