Description
The process takes place in an automatic machine that is suitable to withstand high pressure. The molten metal is pushed into a two-piece steel die by a hydraulically actuated plunger that consists of one or more cavities. The mechanical properties of pressure die castings are very much superior to zinc die casting part that is produced by different methods because of the quick chill and rapid solidification that occurs when the molten metal comes in contact with the relatively cool steel side, and even because of the fine metallurgical grain structure that results.
