Indian captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane, who were out of the warm-up match against County XI, have now returned to training. Kohli and Rahane took part in the batting season along with Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwal.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) posted a photo of the batsmen batting in the nets, tweeting: "Team India is back and training at the center wicket of Durham Cricket Club." The Indian team in England is battling with an injury problem and three of its members have been ruled out of this series due to injury.
Opener Shubman Gill has already returned home with a leg injury, while spin bowling all-rounder Washington Sundar and pacer Avesh Khan will also miss the Test series due to injuries.
The BCCI recently picked opener Prithvi Shaw and middle-order batsman Suryakumar Yadav as replacements for these players. The first match of the five-match Test series between India and England will start from August 4.
