In honor of the Sufi Saint Bande Nawaz, Khaja Bandanawaz University (KBNU) is a private institution of higher learning in Kalaburagi, Karnataka. According to the Khaja Bandanawaz University Act, 2018, the Khaja Bandanawaz Educational Society founded the university in 2018. About 20 institutions are located inside the university, including those that were previously affiliated with the Khaja Bandanawaz Educational Society, such the Khaja Banda Nawaz College of Engineering, Khaja Banda Nawaz Institute of Medical Sciences, and a recently established law college.

It is accredited by the UGC and provides undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programs in the areas of engineering and technology, science, medical science, arts, commerce, management, humanities, and social science. The original purpose of Khaja Bandanawaz University was to support the goals of the Muslim community. However, since its founding, it has been able to give ground-breaking service because to its humanitarian outlook and compassion for the underprivileged groups of mankind. Additionally, it is necessary to establish and manage technical, medical, unani, and engineering professional institutions / colleges, research centers, charitable hospitals, etc., as well as schools and colleges that use English or Urdu as their primary language of instruction to teach regional, classical, and foreign languages.
