Kedarkantha Trek

Located within the Govind Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarkashi, Kedarkantha Peak offers breathtaking 360-degree views of the Yamunotri and Gangotri ranges of Swarga Rohini, Bandar Poonch II and II, Black Peak, and Ranglana. The destination is open throughout the year, except in the monsoon. The destination name translates itself as "Shiva's neck," where 'kedara' means Shiva and 'kantha' means neck.

For keen travelers, the best time to start trekking to Kedarkanth is around 9–10 months of the year. It is best to avoid the rainy season due to the incessant rainfall, which can be dangerous, making it unsuitable for trekking. While the harshest of winters may lead to a temporary closure in January due to heavy snowfall, the trek is generally considered safe during the remaining months, providing for nature enthusiasts with a wonderful experience.
