Isopropylmagnesium chloride lithium chloride complex is an organic compound that is used as a reagent in organic synthesis. This solution contains 1.3 M isopropylmagnesium chloride and lithium chloride in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The solution can be used as an inhibitor against cancer cells, as it inhibits the growth of cancer cells by blocking the function of proteins that are involved in cell proliferation or cell death (such as insulin-like growth factor). Isopropylmagnesium chloride lithium chloride complex solution - 1.3 M in THF also inhibits glucose uptake by sodium-dependent glucose transporters, which may have therapeutic benefits for treating hepatitis and diabetes mellitus type 2. It can be used as a conditioning agent for patients undergoing hemodialysis, which prevents the formation of calcium phosphate crystals on the surface of the membrane by chelating magnesium ions from the water.
