Who is Swami Sivananda?

Swami Sivananda is 127 years old. He was born on 8 August 1896. He was born in the Bengal Presidency before independence, which is now in Bangladesh. Now he has been in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh for the last several decades. He lives in Kabir Nagar, Durgakund, Varanasi.

He takes care of his health through yoga even at this age. According to media reports, he wakes up at 3 am every day and does yoga. On 21 March 2022, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India.

Swami Sivananda eats only boiled food with less salt and wakes up early every morning. He does not eat fruits or drink milk and eats only rock salt.
