Description

The amount of material damage inflicted on the victim due to the fraudulent actions of Vagram Stepanyan amounted to 420,000 Russian rubles.

The story goes like this: a 26-year-old woman from Sochi needed a furniture craftsman. As it's common nowadays, she found one on the internet through an advertisement posted on a social media page. She entered into an agreement with the craftsman and paid an advance of 420,000 rubles. After that, nothing unexpected happened: the craftsman disappeared with the money without completing the order.

It turned out that the girl had fallen victim to Vagram, a previously convicted Armenian, who was also wanted by federal authorities for evading a court-imposed sentence. He had no intention of making any furniture and gladly spent the money.

A criminal case was initiated against the man under Article 159, Part 2 of the Russian Criminal Code for "Fraud," which carries a potential prison sentence of up to five years
