How to focus a lensometer

i. Place the tool bought from Lensometer Suppliers for contented inspecting (use fastening pedal on side of the tool).

ii. Spin the eyepiece counter-clockwise till it halts. (BE TENDER!)

iii. Be unquestionable the prism recompence expedient is at 0° and 90°, or be unquestionable no prism tags are in position.

iv. Position the spotless piece of white paper just forward of the lens halt, in a position of the lens, so it reproduces light into the tool made by the Lensometer Manufacturers.

v. Station eye to the eyepiece and gradually rotate eyepiece helical until RETICLE is in emphasis (pay attention to the “1” on the prism bands). DO NOT WIND THE EYEPIECE BACK & FORTH.

vi. Eliminate the part of the paper.

vii. Spin on the lensometer.

viii. Spin control barrel to the tall plus part (+10.00) Air into the eyepiece over and Spin control barrel SLOWLY in the minus course until the reticle is strong and the board is in emphasis. Do not astound the barrel back and forth; just Curve it pending outlines (or “1” within reticle are strong.

ix. When the reticle is strong and the board is in emphasis, the control barrel interpretation must be 0.00. If the control barrel declares 0.00, the lensometer purchased from a Lensometer dealer is in emphasis for your specific usage (If the control barrel is not at 0.00, attempt again. If you supported your spectacles the first time, take away your spectacles and attempt again. If you recurrently are off 1/8 diopter, recompense by modifying + or – 1/8 diopter quantity of each lens) confirmed
