The following overall necessities are to be gotten by the Hospital Design Architect
I. Setting: A hospital and other health amenities shall be so positioned that it is willingly available to the community and sensibly free from unwarranted noise, smoke, dust, foul odor, and flood, and shall not be situated adjacent to tracks, freight yards, children's playgrounds, airports, industrial plants, disposal plants.
II. Tenancy: A building intended for a hospital/healthcare facility will be used only for this purpose.
III. Security: A hospital and other health amenities shall deliver and uphold a safe environment for patients, personnel, and the public. The structure shall be of such construction that no dangers to the life and safety of patients, personnel, and the public exist. It will be capable of enduring weight and elements to which it may be exposed.
Departures shall be limited to the following kinds: door leading straight outside the building, interior stair, ramp, and exterior stair.
The least of two (2) departures, distant from each other, shall be provided by the top Hospital Design Architect for each floor of the building.
Departures shall end straight at an open space to the outside of the building.
IV. Safety: A hospital and other health amenities will ensure the safety of persons and property within the facility.
V. Patient Movement: Places shall be extensive enough for the free progress of patients, whether they are on beds, stretchers, or wheelchairs. Flow routes for transporting patients from one part to another shall be available and free at all times.
Passages for admission by patient and equipment shall have a tiniest width of 2.44 meters.
Passages in areas not usually used for bed, stretcher, and equipment conveyance may be abridged in breadth to 1.83 meters.
A slope or elevator will be provided for ancillary, medical and nursing areas situated on the upper floor.
A slope will be provided as admission to the entrance of the hospital, not on the same level as the site.
VI. Illumination: All parts of a hospital and other health amenities will be provided with adequate illumination to promote comfort, healing, and recovery of patients and to enable personnel in the performance of work.
VII. Ventilation: Satisfactory ventilation will be provided by the best Hospital Design Architects to ensure the comfort of patients, personnel, and the public.
