Explore the incredible Har Ki Dun trek at the Govinda Wildlife Sanctuary in Uttarakhand, accessible only on foot in a cradle-like valley The total length of the trek is 50 km; It takes two to three days to travel to the valley and another two days to return. Jack Gibson and Tenzing Norgay reached the summit of Bandarpunch in 1937, introducing people to the wildlife, flora and protected culture of the area. "Har Ki Dun" translates as "Valley of the Gods", indicating its cultural importance. "Shiva's word or God's word" is another definition more in line with regional customs. The annual festival in the valley greets Lord Someshwar with a frenzied drum beat, linked to old stories of a dhaki who kidnaps people and gives ethereal charm to the pilgrimage
