Gangotri Temple is a prominent Hindu pilgrimage site in Uttarakhand, India, set in the Garhwal Himalayas. It has enormous spiritual significance because it is located near the source of the sacred River Ganges. The temple, dedicated to Goddess Ganga, was built in the 18th century by Amar Singh Thapa. Pilgrims set out on a difficult journey to seek the blessings of Ganga Ma at this hallowed site. The tranquil surrounds of the temple, snow-capped peaks, and the beautiful melody of the Ganges combine to create a magnificent environment. Gangotri Temple is a refuge of natural beauty and devotion that is only open during the summer months.
