Traditionally, the conventional methods in teaching English as a foreign language, such as boring explanations or mechanical exercises, are unpleasant and can be very monotonous for students. For this reason, the new curricula have developed strategies for learning, based on the use of games as an educational tool. In this sense, this article has the objective of describing the importance of the use of games in the teaching of English as a foreign language, among other issues.
