Duckworth-Lewis method, often referred to as DLS, is a mathematical formula used in limited-overs cricket matches to adjust target scores in rain-affected matches. It is named after its developers, Frank Duckworth and Tony Lewis. The method was introduced in the late 1990s to provide a fair way of recalculating targets when weather interruptions occur during a cricket match.
