It is usually a screw of titanium which replaces the root of the tooth when it’s damaged or fails to protect the tooth. The screw is directly placed into the jaw bone. Dental implantations are generally of two types i.e endosteal and subperiosteal implantation.
In Endosteal Dental Implantation the false tooth is implanted into the bone whereas in Subperiosteal Dental Implantation the false tooth is implanted in the jaw bone just under the gum. Dental implants are associated with different grafting methods such as bone grafting. For dental implantation procedure involves an oral surgery to prepare a place for the implantation. After a few days of oral surgery, implantation is done. In some cases, according to the condition the tooth/teeth are implanted known as “Immediate Implantation”
