Data Base Replication Services

In a one-way or multi-way replication scheme, one or more source databases, certain predefined schema, or even specific segments within each database can be replicated to one or more target databases. As a result, both the source and target databases can handle reads and writes at the same time. A distributed database environment is formed by all databases involved in the replication scheme.
Advanced Replication, from a logical standpoint, provides a hot standby database. In contrast to a traditional standby database scenario, the target database is open and ready for immediate failover if the source database fails. The target should ideally be kept on a separate machine in a remote location for disaster recovery purposes.
