Neck pain can be caused by a number of factors, including muscle strains or ligament strains or a “pinched” nerve or arthritis. Generally, regardless of the cause, pain can be improved with conservative therapy. Neck pain is often classified as “acute” (lasting less than 6 weeks), “sub-acute” (lasting 6 to 12 weeks), or “chronic” (lasting more than 12 weeks).
