The date of opening of Kedarnath Dham was declared on the festival of Mahashivaratri. In Kedarnath Baba's Summer Gaddi Omkareshwar Temple, the priests have declared the date of May 17 as per the almanac. The shrine of Badrinath will open on May 18 and the Kapotas of Gangotri and Yamanotri will open on the day of Akshaya Tritiya.
The famous Chardham Yatra of Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is going to start from May 2021. The Char Dham Yatra involves the journey of Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamanotri. Millions of devotees visit Uttarakhand every year. The date of opening the doors of the holy shrines has been fixed for this year.
The date of opening of the doors of Baba Kedar at Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath, the winter abode of Kedarnath, on the auspicious occasion of Shivaratri, was found out. Baba Kedar's doors will be opened for common devotees on May 17 at five in the morning. This date was taken out by the priests after Panchag worship.
On May 14, Baba Kedar's Panchmukhi Chalagriha Utsav Doli will depart from its winter abode Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath for Kedarnath. On the first day, Baba's Doli will rest at night in Fata. On 15 May, Baba's Doli will take a night stay at Dutia and then at Gaurikund. Baba Kedar's Doli will reach Kedarnath on 16 May and the doors will be opened at 5 am on 17 May.
The doors of Badrinath will open on 18 May. Gangotri and Yamanotri doors will open on Akshaya Tritiya.
