When it comes to cooling, pressure is everything, and centrifugal chillers take advantage of this. There are two kinds of chillers: centrifugal and evaporative. The centrifugal compressor in the chiller increases the pressure of a coolant vapour before letting it go into the condenser, which is cooled by air or water.
Application of Centrifugal Chillers
Centrifugal chillers are used to cool and dry the air. Centrifugal Water chillers are different from other vapour-compression chiller systems, like screw chillers, which use a rotating screw compressor because of their type of compressor. Centrifugal chillers can cool down a wide range of heat-generating industrial processes and lab equipment in a controlled way. These include injection moulding, blow moulding, metal working, cutting, welding, machine tools, chemical processing, food and drink processing, paper making, power generation, lasers, MRI machines, and many more. They are used in industries as different as making plastics and cars, running utilities, making things, and medicine. Still, they are also used in the industrial air conditioning systems of medium to large businesses. Centrifugal chillers come in many different sizes, from 60 to 2,700 tonnes for factory-made chillers to 9,000 tonnes for on-site-assembled chillers.
