Description

Know what is Agricultural Engineering:
Agricultural engineering is the field of engineering concerned with the design, manufacture and improvement of agricultural equipment and machinery. Agricultural engineers integrate technology with farming. For example, they design new and improved agricultural equipment that can operate more efficiently, or perform new functions. They design and build agricultural infrastructure such as dams, water reservoirs, warehouses and other structures. They can also help engineer solutions for pollution control on large farms.

To pursue a career in agricultural engineering, some agricultural engineers are developing new forms of biofuels from non-food resources such as algae and agricultural waste. Such fuels could economically and sustainably replace gasoline without jeopardizing the food supply. Those interested in sustainability can offer advice on water quality and water pollution control issues. They can also plan and oversee land reclamation projects on farms. Others may be involved in agricultural waste-to-energy projects and carbon sequestration (absorbing carbon dioxide from the atmosphere in soil, crops and trees).

Personality and interest in Agricultural Engineering:
According to the Holland Code Framework, agricultural engineers are generally interested in the building, thinking and persuading sectors. The building interest area focuses on working with tools and machines, and on building or fixing practical things. The thinking interest area focuses on research, investigation, and increasing understanding of natural laws. Persuading interest area indicates a focus on influencing, motivating and selling other people.
