GATE is a pan INDIA-level examination conducted every year for all engineering graduates and provides them a gateway to a bright and successful future. The GATE examination provides the students with immense scope of growth in research, job, and fellowship. Depending on their areas of interest, the students opt for what is best suited for them.
We have discussed a lot about the preparation phase of the GATE examination, but what motivates us the most is the life that awaits us after the examination. So today we want to discuss how your life changes and what is actually the Life after GATE is if you opt for PSUs.
So once you are done with the GATE exam and the result, along with your rank and score, is out. The PSUs you have applied to or will apply after the results will call you for their interview round depending on your marks in the GATE exam. Mostly the weightage of the GATE Score (almost 85%) for selection is more than the interview score. Therefore you must make sure to give the GATE examination your best shot and get good marks. The best part of the PSUs is the joining period because of its facilities and training. Here like a kid you are inducted into the PSU family and introduced to everything around: the plant, working culture, nature of work done. You are given a brief review of the problems you may face and how to tackle them. Certain PSUs also take the trainees around the country to their various locations to make the candidates familiar with the PSUs and the place so that they can work with better understanding and dedication when the training is complete. The Pay package in the PSUs ranges somewhere between 8-20 lakhs which is pretty good for candidates of the age group 22-30 years. With a good salary in hand, the candidates can fulfill all their wishes which while preparing for the exam were put at stake. Thus the PSU makes sure that you get all that you deserve after the months of hard work you have put in to reach this level.

While most perks provided by all the PSUs are the same, for some it may vary depending on your location and nature of work. The path of getting a promotion or an increment in Public Sector Undertakings is more transparent and reliable. It is assumed that if you work hard and meet targets, you will grow as a professional within the ranks of the company due to regular promotions and increments.
