The mission of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS) is to:
Provide prosthetics or artificial limbs, calipers and other physical aids and appliances, free of charge, to as many disabled people as possible through its centre’s, outreach programmer’s and rehabilitation camps, both in India and abroad.

The above-knee prosthesis is indigenously designed and fabricated from locally manufactured high-quality, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipes. The sockets used are of both ischial bearing and Ischial containment types. The knee joints are available in a variety of designs.
