We use the latest phaco-emulsification machine for Micro-Incision Cataract Surgery (MICS) This involves the removal of the cataract through a 2.2mm incision with the implantation of foldable Intraocular Lenses (IOLs). Patients are offered the latest in IOL technology personalised to their eye and needs. These include Aspheric Monofocal or Multifocal lenses. Toric IOLsare specialized IOLs used in patients with associated corneal astigmatism, i.e. High cylindrical powers. To minimize calculation errors in the implanted IOLs ,we now routinely do corneal topography, Immersion/Ultrasound or Optical Biometry and Aberrometric Evaluation in all patients undergoing cataract evaluation.
