Yamunotri is the source of the Yamuna River. The main magnetism is the Yamunotri Temple devoted to Goddess Yamuna. Gangotri is the origin of the holy river Ganga (Ganges). The Gangotri Temple, dedicated to deity Ganga, is the major pilgrimage site in Gangotri. The famous Kedarnath Temple is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas (sacred shrine of Lord Shiva) and is easy to get to by a trek of just about 16 kilometers from Gaurikund.
